Although this is a Jimi Hendrix original, SRV always made whatever he played his own and this song is no exception. Playing “Voodoo Chile” at his last Capitol Theatre show EVER, he is on another level with vocals, guitar work and stage presence.

“Cause I’m a voodoo child, Lord knows I’m a voodoo child baby. I want to say one more last thing, I didn’t mean to take up all your sweet time…”

Absolutely drenched in his soulful sweat, SRV slays favorite “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)” in front of thousands of screaming and adoring fans while he subtly fixes the funky wire out of place without even a hint of panic. One of our favorite things about SRV was his ability to change out guitars during a set like it was nothing, he just made it look so easy, didn’t he?

Interesting Fact: This was the last song Hendrix performed live. On September 6, 1970, which was 12 days before his death, he played it at a concert in Germany.

We could argue that this was one of Stevie’s best performances of all time, even with the amp and chord mixups, the champ pulled through and outdid himself like always, as he was known to do. Our favorite part? The moments where we literally melted his own face with his insane rock skills that blew even him away.
