Veteran Actor Bill Cobbs Passed Away at 90

At the age of 90, Bill Cobbs, a seasoned actor best recognized for his parts in around 200 motion pictures and television series, including Night at the Museum, passed away.
Thomas G. Cobbs, the younger brother of Cobbs, announced Cobbs’s peaceful passing on June 25 at his Riverside, California home in a touching Facebook post.
Thomas stated:
“We are saddened to share the passing of Bill Cobbs.
“On Tuesday, June 25, Bill passed away peacefully at his home in California. A beloved partner, big brother, uncle, surrogate parent, godfather, and friend, Bill recently celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by loved ones. As a family, we find comfort knowing Bill has found peace and eternal rest.”
Chuck I. Jones, Cobbs’ publicist, also confirmed to the Associated Press that natural causes are likely the cause of death.
Road to Hollywood
Cobbs, who was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 16, 1934, had an unusual path to Hollywood. At the age of 36, he pursued acting in New York after working numerous jobs and serving in the US Air Force. His career took off with significant theater parts, which ultimately led to his 1974 film debut in The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.
Cobbs had notable cameos in films including Air Bud, Ghosts of Mississippi, and The Hudsucker Proxy during his lengthy career. He became well-known for his role as Reginald in the movie Night at the Museum, in which he co-starred with Ben Stiller and Dick Van Dyke.
Throughout his career, Cobbs worked alongside industry greats, leaving a lasting impact on Hollywood and beyond.
