Slap The Bass!

You know what they say, bass players have deep thoughts. Lol. We all have our favorites so there’s no need to argue who needs to be in the top spot. Yes, I know you’re waiting if Roger Waters and Duff McKagan made it to the list but just so you know, this can still be pretty subjective. If you ask me who’ll be in my top 10, I’ve no doubt we’ll end up disagreeing with each other. Ha! Anyway, the thing I love about compilations such as this is I feel like I’m in music heaven. Imagine, you get nothing but mind-blowing, in-your-face numbers from only the most talented bassists who have walked the earth.

Charlie Haden described the importance of bass perfectly when he said, “The bass, no matter what kind of music you’re playing, it just enhances the sound and makes everything sound more beautiful and full. When the bass stops, the bottom kind of drops out of everything.”

That’s perfectly accurate.
