No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont has revealed that he is living with Parkinson’s disease, sharing the diagnosis just weeks before the band’s scheduled residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

In a video posted to Instagram, Dumont spoke about preparing for the upcoming performances, reflecting on the band’s history while revisiting old material. He described spending time “looking through old photographs and relearning old songs,” adding that the experience prompted him to consider “how grateful I am for the life I’ve gotten to lead as a musician all these years.”

“It’s a Struggle Every Day”

Dumont, who has been a constant member of No Doubt since joining in 1988, addressed his diagnosis with candor.

“A number of years ago I was experiencing a number of symptoms,” he explained. “I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, did a whole bunch of tests, and I was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease. It’s been a struggle, it’s a struggle every day.”

Despite the challenges, the guitarist emphasized that his ability to perform remains intact. “The good news is I can still play music, I can still play guitar,” Dumont said. “I’ve been doing really well.” He also noted that seeing others speak openly about their health struggles encouraged him to share his own story, highlighting how such visibility helps reduce stigma and increase awareness—an essential factor in both prevention and research.

Onstage, Undeterred

Dumont confirmed that he will still take part in No Doubt’s upcoming residency, which begins May 6, signaling his determination to continue performing despite the diagnosis.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement. While advances in treatment have enabled many to manage its symptoms, there is currently no cure. In recent years, artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Neil Diamond, and Linda Ronstadt have also spoken publicly about their experiences with the condition, contributing to broader awareness within the music community.
