Tobias Forge Says Alleged Stalker Left Him Feeling Threatened

Swedish authorities have formally charged a woman accused of what police describe as “invasive and downright threatening” stalking behavior toward Tobias Forge, the creative force behind Ghost.

According to reports from Aftonbladet, the woman claims she is engaged to the 45-year-old musician. Initial contact reportedly began through digital messages before Forge blocked her. The situation then intensified, with the woman allegedly sending registered letters to his home, issuing payment requests, and even mailing a package containing a mobile phone.

A Disturbing Pattern of Obsession

Forge addressed the situation by reflecting on his past interactions with fans, noting how such encounters have changed over time:

“Previously, I have had meetings with my fans in the form of record signings and the like, but I had to stop doing that because of some weird things that happened in connection with it.
The reservation is that she may have been to something like that and that I met her there, but I have not had any relationship with her.”

Police records indicate the woman believes their supposed relationship dates back 16 years. She maintains that they are still in frequent contact but has declined to provide any evidence to support her claims.

Beyond the allegations involving Forge, she also faces charges of unlawful stalking, sexual assault, and multiple counts of assault involving two other individuals—painting a broader and more serious picture of alleged behavior.

While Forge acknowledged that intense fan attention is not new, he emphasized that this case stands apart:

“I’ve had devoted pursuers before, most of them are pretty harmless, but there’s something about this that’s odd.
I don’t want to make her life worse. I just want her to leave me alone and not hurt anyone else.”
