This Ten-Year-Old Drummer “When The Levee Breaks” Cover Will Take Your Breath Away
Adorable Little Rocker
At just 10, Simone Lockhart is shredding the hits of Led Zeppelin as she performs “When the Levee Breaks” for her Spring 2015 Showcase for the Gulf Cost School of Music this past April.
Wearing an adorable little rocker dress, Simone outshines the two gentlemen working the guitar and vocals on the drums.
“Cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good”
It goes without saying, this young lady has impeccable taste in music and chose the perfect song to display her awesome rocker skills while maintaining her adorable smile.
Fun Fact: Jimmy Page’s backward echo technique, where he would put the echo ahead of the sound, was used on the harmonica.
Knowing that Bonzo’s dream was to have his son play with him on stage, we know that we would have appreciated such a great talent at such a young age.
Keep on rockin’ Simone!
+ When The Levee Breaks Lyrics +
If it keeps on rainin’, levee’s goin’ to break
If it keeps on rainin’, levee’s goin’ to break
When the levee breaks I’ll have no place to stay
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan
It’s got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home
Oh, well, oh, well, oh, well
Don’t it make you feel bad
When you’re tryin’ to find your way home
You don’t know which way to go?
If you’re goin’ down South
They got no work to do,
If you don’t know about Chicago
Cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good
Now, cryin’ won’t help you, prayin’ won’t do you no good
When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move
All last night sat on the levee and moaned
All last night sat on the levee and moaned
Thinkin’ about my baby and my happy home
Going, going to Chicago…
Going to Chicago…
Sorry but I can’t take you…
Going down… going down now… going down…
