About Time

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame has announced the list of nominees for the class of 2020. The 16 artists are Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, Depeche Mode, Soundgarden, Judas Priest, T-Rex, Pat Benatar, MC5, Whitney Houston, Todd Rundgren, Dave Matthews Band, The Doobie Brothers, Kraftwerk, The Notorious B.I.G. and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan.

This is the first Hall nomination for Thin Lizzy, who’s been eligible since 1996, and will be represented by band members Phil Lynott (who died in 1986), Brian Downey, Eric Bell, Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. In an interview last week, Jeff Gaudiosi of MisplacedStraws.com asked guitarist Scott Gorham if he ever thinks about Thin Lizzy being in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Gorham responded, “Well, I don’t. I don’t even know what it takes to get into the Hall Of Fame, so I don’t even kind of go there. I don’t even know how it’s done. I mean, do you get voted in or something? I have no idea. So, no, I don’t go there at all. If it ever happens, that would be great. But, no, I don’t think in those lines.”

Fans can cast their vote online and can vote once a day through January 10, 2020. And they can pick up to 5 nominees per ballot.

Next year’s induction ceremony will be held at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio on May 2, 2020.
