The Story Of Ozzy’s Rampage With A Dismembered Shark

The Story Of Ozzy’s Rampage With A Dismembered Shark | Society Of Rock Videos

Ozzy Osbourne has been involved in numerous ludicrous stories. But one thing that remains unforgettable in the pile of things Osbourne did that is downright crazy was when he trashed a hotel room with a bloody, dismembered shark.

For those who grew up watching the singer’s reality TV show, they know there were countless mishaps animals faced with the Prince of Darkness. From biting the head off a bat that he didn’t know was real until it was too late and even to snorting a moving line of ants, Osbourne has done it all.

Adding to that, a story coming from Osbourne’s former bandmate, Tony Iommi, has proven that this rumor about Osbourne painting a hotel room with the blood of a dead shark is not just a “myth.” Iommi, himself, admitted that because of the Black Sabbath‘s incessant drug-taking, they often liked to pull pranks on one another. He even remembers setting Bill Ward on fire.

Iommi recalled that one time he asked Ward, “Bill, can I set fire to you?” and Ward responded, “Busy, so not just yet” but after a while, Ward said that “I’m going home now, so if you want, you can set fire to me.” With that, Iommi took his chance. He recalled, “I threw a bucket (of alcohol) over him, and he went on fire. It soaked third-degree burns into his legs.”

With the kind of pranks they’re usually dealing with, it is expected that when they say Osbourne trashed a hotel room, it is not just an old wives’ tale. Iommi added, “With drugs, always you get bored, so you must do something to one another. Like Ozzy hauling a shark through a window, dismembering it, and soaking our room in blood.”

Truly, there is nobody that could add a rock and roll edge to pranks quite like the Black Sabbath.
