The Hollywood Vampires Shares Cover Of Jimi Hendrix’s “Manic Depression”

The Hollywood Vampires have released a live video performance of their rendition of the Jimi Hendrix classic “Manic Depression.”

The video was recorded during their show at Rock in Rio in 2015 in front of 100,000 fans. The rock supergroup consists of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen. On their live cover, the song features Depp’s amazing guitar work, Cooper’s unique voice, and Perry’s sick guitar solos, and is backed by the mad rhythm guitar of Tommy Henriksen.

Initially, “Manic Depression” was released on Hendrix’s 1967 debut album Are You Experienced. It has become a staple in the rock scene ever since. While the Hollywood Vampires’ live rendition brings a new vibe to the classic track with its electrifying solos that still capture the energy of Hendrix’s original.

The live cover of “Manic Depression” is now available on all major streaming platforms. Meanwhile, the Hollywood Vampires are back on the road for their tour and will be performing throughout Europe this summer. Some of their scheduled shows had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but it will finally be made up this year.

While for their newest material, the Hollywood Vampires will release their first live album, Live in Rio, on June 2. The upcoming record will feature songs from their first LP in 2015 played and recorded live during one of their biggest concerts.

Live in Rio will be released as CD+DVD Digipak, CD+Blu-ray Digipak, and limited + numbered 2LP Gatefold Black.
