The Guess Who, a legendary Canadian rock band, released their new album Plein D’Amour earlier this year via Deko Entertainment. With the release of a brand-new video for the track “People Around Me,” they have now continued the album push.
The album Plein D’Amour features the abilities of band members Derek Sharp, Michael Staertow, Leonard Shaw, Michael Devin, and founding member Garry Peterson. It was produced by Adam Fair at Villa Sound in Singhampton, Ontario, Canada, and features notable songs like “Headline” and “Across The Line.”
The cover art for the album was made by renowned graphic designer Ioannis (known for his work with Deep Purple, Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, etc.).
The debut single from The Guess Who, “The King,” was released earlier this year and rapidly became a hit on several Spotify playlists. After that, “Plein D’Amou”r and “Headline” also attracted a lot of attention, garnering a combined 250,000 streams and making this album the group’s most popular offering to date.
To celebrate the new album, The Guess Who has embarked on a full North American tour, which is scheduled to run until the end of 2023.
Over the years, they have released 11 studio albums and achieved 14 Top 40 hit singles, with two of them reaching number one in the United States. The Guess Who is a legendary band with a rich history of chart-topping hits from the late 1960s and early 1970s, including classics like “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” and “No Time.” The motto of The Guess Who has remained “the music is the message,” despite multiple band changes.
Former members of The Guess Who, Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, have been harshly critical of the most recent iteration of The Guess Who, labeling them a cover band and “the fake GUESS WHO.” Peterson, for his part, doesn’t let the criticism affect him.
Peterson told TribLive:
“They decided to go on to their own careers, which I respect and I support.
“You have to, in life, do what you feel you’re called to do. My calling is to be in The Guess Who.”
