Reba McEntire faced an unexpected twist on Monday night’s episode of The Voice Playoffs as one of her team members, Tom Nitti, withdrew from the competition, leaving the country superstar with five contenders instead of six.

In a surprising announcement at the beginning of the episode, Reba McEntire informed the audience about Tom Nitti’s departure and confirmed that he would not be making a return.

“I have wonderfully talented people, but Tom had to leave for personal reasons, so I only have five artists tonight,” revealed the “Fancy” singer.

While Reba didn’t disclose the specific reasons behind Nitti’s exit, host Carson Daly mentioned that it was due to “personal reasons.”

On Tuesday morning, Tom Nitti took to social media to share more about his departure, describing it as“one of the hardest yet easiest decisions ever.”

“Well, I’ve been dreading this day ever since the blind audition so here goes nothin’ … As much as it absolutely stings to say, I had to make probably one of the hardest yet easiest decisions ever and ultimately at the end of the day, my kids will always come first and if I had to make the same decision again I’d do it over and over….”

Responding to comments on Facebook, Nitti clarified that he left “strictly and solely for my kids,” emphasizing that his parents did not influence his decision and that his departure was not an attempt to salvage his marriage.

Tom Nitti initially caught coach Reba’s attention with his dynamic rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” during the Season 24 Blind Auditions.

Despite being the only coach to turn her chair for Nitti, the other coaches expressed their excitement for his journey in the live shows.

In subsequent weeks, Tom continued to impress both the coaches and the audience. His triumph during the Battle Rounds against fellow Team Reba member Dylan Carter, with a cover of Cody Johnson’s “‘Til You Can’t,” showcased his undeniable talent.

Nitti’s unexpected exit adds a layer of uncertainty to Team Reba’s dynamics as they head into the crucial Playoffs phase. The Voice fans will be eagerly watching to see how the remaining five artists navigate the competition in the absence of the talented singer.
