Stevie Nicks feat. Melbourne Symphony Orchestra – “Landslide” (Live)

Stevie Nicks feat. Melbourne Symphony Orchestra – “Landslide” (Live) | Society Of Rock Videos

“And I’ve Been Afraid Of Changing…”

Let me just preface this by saying that if the original rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Landslide’ doesn’t tug at your heart even just a little, then this one will. Seriously – the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra behind Stevie Nicks is out of this world, and they add an extra dose of bittersweet nostalgia to ‘Landslide’ that wasn’t there before. Featured on Crystal Visions: The Very Best Of Stevie Nicks, this emotional solo version of the Fleetwood Mac classic is just that – Stevie’s very best!

The Times, They Are A-Changin’

‘Landslide’ was written as Stevie looking back on her life at all of the change she’d endured, wondering how she’d made it.

Stevie Explains ‘Landslide’

Reflecting on this song in 2014, Stevie told the New York Times: “I wrote ‘Landslide’ in 1973, when I was 27, and I did already feel old in a lot of ways. I’d been working as a waitress and a cleaning lady for years. I was tired.”

Regardless of where you are in life – making a major change, adjusting to a major change, or have no idea that a massive change is coming your way, ‘Landslide’ is one that we’ve all been able to relate to at one time or another.

+ Landslide lyrics +

I took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
And can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Oh oh I don’t know, oh I don’t know

Well, I’ve been afraid of changing
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older I’m getting older too
Yes I’m getting older too, so

I’ve been afraid of changing
‘Cause I, I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I’m getting older too oh yes
I’m getting older too

So, take this love, take it down
Oh if you climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring you down, down
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well maybe the landslide will bring you down
Well well, the landslide will bring you down
