A recent court ruling has resulted in the dismissal of a sexual assault lawsuit filed against Steven Tyler, the renowned Aerosmith singer. The judge concluded that Tyler’s actions did not pose a significant risk of physical harm to the plaintiff.

The lawsuit originated from an incident dating back to 1975. Jeanne Bellino, then a 17-year-old model, alleged that Tyler engaged in inappropriate behavior inside a New York phone booth. Bellino claimed that Tyler forcibly kissed her, touched her body inappropriately, and simulated sexual acts, all while being observed by others. Another incident reportedly occurred later that day in a hotel lobby.

Bellino asserted that she experienced emotional distress and suffering as a result of these encounters. She brought her case forward under New York City’s Victim of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, which allows for an extended statute of limitations in certain sexual assault cases.

However, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled that Bellino’s allegations did not meet the criteria outlined in the law. He determined that Tyler’s actions did not present a serious risk of physical injury.

Tyler’s legal team argued that Bellino could have pursued her case earlier under previous state laws. They contended that her failure to do so within the designated time frames demonstrated a lack of diligence on her part. The judge sided with Tyler’s lawyers and dismissed the case.

In response to the dismissal, Tyler’s attorney expressed gratitude:

“We agree with the judge’s reasoning, and are grateful for this result on behalf of our client.”

According to TMZ, Bellino has until March 13 to revise and resubmit her case.
