I’ll Tell You What I’m Talking About!

Steven Tyler dominated the American Idol stage on May 23, 2012 when he performed alongside Aerosmith for the season finale! They played “Legendary Child” and “Walk This Way” and the crowd just went wild!

“Legendary Child” was re-worked by Aerosmith for their fifteenth studio album, “Music from Another Dimension!” It was originally recorded in 1991 but was never released. It was featured in the movie “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and they debuted the track with this particular performance. After which, it was then premiered on radio stations and became available for digital downloads.

  • Number 1 on Canada: Active Rock (America’s Music Charts)
  • Number 27 on US Rock Songs (Billboard)
  • Number 17 on US Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks (Billboard)

This was the first new song to be dropped by Aerosmith in nearly six years. The previous one was “Devil’s Got a New Disguise,” the title track of a compilation album, which was released as a promotional single in October 2006.

They also released the music video which was inspired by Wild Wild West. Actress Alexa Vega, who starred in the “Spy Kids” film series, is being shown trying to escape on roller skates. Aerosmith is seen performing in a warehouse.

Perry’s riff actually makes two appearances on Music From Another Dimension. ” We couldn’t really figure out where to put it,” he told Artist Direct. “After all these years, there was something about it that was really catchy, but we never found a place for it. It found its way into ‘Legendary Child”, but we also placed it in another track.”

Aerosmith definitely knows how to kill it on stage!
