The partnership between Steve Perry recognized for his powerful vocals, and Dolly Parton, is taking place and advancing impressively.
In a recent interview with Louder Sound, Perry discussed his delight in working with Parton. He acknowledged her great vocal ability and stated she is putting in much effort.
Since Perry posted a picture of himself in the recording studio with sound engineer Chris Lord-Alge on social media, excitement has been growing about their joint effort to create a fresh rendition of the beloved classic song “Open Arms.” Perry expressed his enthusiasm for the project and indicated the track was in its last mixing stage.
Perry discussed his views on collaboration and his general music-making approach in a recent interview. He acknowledged having plenty of his own new music in his studio but confessed to being a bit indolent and only pursuing projects that resonate with him emotionally.
Regarding the duet with Parton, Perry spoke highly of how it turned out, emphasizing that it sounded exceptional and that Parton gave it her all.
Music Backlog and Emotional Focus
Perry confessed that he has a backlog of his music in his studio. Still, he confesses being a tad lazy and concentrating only on projects that resonate with him emotionally. He avoids anything that doesn’t stir him. He teamed up with Parton recently on “Open Arms,” mixed with Chris Lord-Alge, and it turned out wonderfully.
Parton had a long-standing affection for the song and wished to include it on an album. Even though it has been recorded several times, Perry felt that Parton’s version was outstanding, as she sang it with exceptional passion.
