The Eagles’ Long Goodbye tour took an unexpected twist as the iconic band Steely Dan, originally slated as the opening act, had to step back due to illness. Filling the void left by Steely Dan is none other than the renowned Steve Miller Band, who has graciously joined the Eagles on their musical journey.

Steely Dan’s last performance as the Eagles’ opening act was on September 20 in Elmont, New York.

Since then, the talented Sheryl Crow briefly took the stage for two Eagles concerts on October 5 and 6. However, for the October 9 show, the spotlight shifted to the legendary Steve Miller Band, showcasing their musical prowess to the audience.

Fans can expect more of Miller’s electrifying performances as he is set to open shows on October 10 in Indianapolis, October 13 in Detroit, and October 17 in Cleveland. A special treat awaits the audience in Pittsburgh on October 15, where Vince Gill, a touring member of the Eagles, will double up his role by opening the show.

The specifics regarding Steely Dan’s members affected or the seriousness of the situation remain undisclosed.

The next collaboration between Steely Dan and the Eagles is anticipated on November 2 in Atlanta, marking a hopeful return for the band.

As the Eagles continue their tour, they are scheduled to grace stages across the country until early 2024, concluding with back-to-back shows in Los Angeles on January 5 and 6. Aptly named the Long Goodbye tour, this series of performances is poised to be the Eagles’ final major journey.

In a heartfelt statement, the band expressed their gratitude to their fans, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout the decades.

“We hope to see as many of you as we can before we finish up,” the Eagles stated. “Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

With Steve Miller now sharing the stage with the Eagles, fans can expect an unforgettable musical experience, celebrating the legacy of two legendary bands. As the tour continues, it’s a reminder of the enduring power of music to bring people together and create everlasting memories.
