Devon Allman, son of late Southern rock icon Gregg Allman, has announced new tour dates while also delivering a memorable performance overseas using one of rock music’s most historic instruments. The guitarist and singer revealed plans for his upcoming 20 Years Strong Tour, marking two decades since the release of his first album, Torch, recorded with Honeytribe.

The announcement came during a busy stretch for Allman, who has continued building his own career while honoring his musical roots. The tour will feature a wide range of material spanning his work as a solo artist and collaborator, reflecting the many projects he has led or joined since his debut release in 2006.

Anniversary Tour Plans Take Shape

According to the newly released schedule, the 20 Years Strong Tour will begin on August 13 at Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Devon Allman Project will then travel through the Northeast, performing in Homer, New York, on August 14 and Lake Placid, New York, on August 15 before heading west to Bayfield, Wisconsin, on August 20 and Wausau, Wisconsin, on August 22.

The group will continue with a performance at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, followed by shows in Milwaukee on August 28 and an appearance at the Southern Indiana Blues Festival on August 29. Tickets for the tour are scheduled to go on sale Friday, with blues trio GA-20 joining as support on select dates.

Explaining the concept behind the shows, Allman wrote, “The set will be filled with material from every era of my career, including my 4 solo albums, Honeytribe, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Allman Betts Band, Devon & Donovan Frankenreiter, Blues Summit and some family music as well.” He also promised fans “one song off every single album,” offering a full look at his musical history.

Historic Guitar Performance in Tokyo

Alongside the tour announcement, Allman performed a sold-out concert at Billboard Live Tokyo, where he played Jimi Hendrix’s 1968 Fender Stratocaster. The guitar is widely known for its connection to Hendrix’s appearance at the Woodstock festival on August 18, 1969, one of the most recognized performances in rock history.

The instrument is currently owned by Doggies Guitar, a company known for maintaining rare and historically significant guitars. Allman was given the opportunity to use the Stratocaster during the Tokyo performance, creating a moment that connected two generations of guitar-driven music.

Allman has often spoken about the influence of classic blues and rock artists on his playing style, and the chance to perform with Hendrix’s guitar added symbolic meaning to the show. The performance also highlighted his continued presence on international stages as he balances tribute to musical history with new creative work.

The upcoming tour follows a series of Blues Summit performances earlier in 2026, where Allman shared stages with veteran musicians and expanded his audience across the United States. With the anniversary tour approaching, fans can expect a setlist shaped by both personal milestones and the legacy of the Allman family name.
