Slash Shares That Guns n’ Roses Is Making A New Album

Slash recently revealed that Guns N’ Roses is actively working on a new album, and he’s deeply involved in the creative process.

Addressing queries about notable absences like Axl Rose or his Conspirators collaborator Myles Kennedy from his latest solo release, Orgy of the Damned, Slash clarified to the Daily Star (via NME), stating:

“Guns N’ Roses are trying to make their own record. And I’m working with them in that capacity, but this [solo album] didn’t involve anyone else. It was my own side thing, so I wasn’t dragging my own guys in.”

While Orgy of the Damned primarily showcases Slash’s solo endeavors, it features a diverse array of guest artists, including Iggy Pop, Chris Stapleton, Demi Lovato, Paul Rodgers, Chris Robinson, Beth Hart, Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, Brian Johnson, and Steven Tyler.

Guns N’ Roses: Exploring Recent Albums

Guns N’ Roses’ last full-length album, Chinese Democracy, dates back to 2008, a project on which Slash did not participate. His last contribution to a GNR album was in 1993 with The Spaghetti Incident? Since reuniting with the band in 2016, Slash has lent his guitar prowess to a series of singles, including “Shadow of Your Love,” “Absurd,” “Hard Skool,” “Perhaps,” and “The General.”

Reflecting on the band’s reunion in 2022 during an interview with Rolling Stone, Slash highlighted the significant shift in dynamics, particularly between himself and Axl Rose. He described the reunion as dispelling a “horrible black cloud” of past animosities fueled by external factors. Slash emphasized the profound musical chemistry reignited when he jammed together with his bandmates. It somehow articulated an indescribable synergy that marked their renewed collaboration, offering a stark contrast to the tensions of the past:

“…when Axl and Duff [McKagan] and I first got into a room playing, it was just like this fucking thing that I can’t even really verbally describe. It was like, ‘Whoa, that’s what that is.’ Then, just to go out and play together, it’s like, I wonder how the fuck we got into that mess that we were in in the ’90s.”
