The Scorpions teased a new song, reportedly titled “Seventh Sun”, by sharing a rehearsal video on Facebook. This was filmed in their studio in Hannover, Germany. They captioned it with, “Rehearsing new songs for the upcoming Tour …” Drummer Mikkey Dee uploaded the same clip on his Instagram and wrote, “SCORPIONS – rehearsing new songs for upcomming Tour. Pretty damn heavy.”

The band is currently working on the follow-up to 2015’s “Return to Forever”, and the album is expected to arrive early next year. They recorded it at Peppermint Park Studios in Hannover, and then mixed at Hansa Studios in Berlin. They originally planned to record the LP in Los Angeles, but because of the pandemic, they had no choice but to change their plans.

Singer Klaus Meine told Talking Metal that they wanted to work with producer Greg Fidelman so they could bring “the old vibe from albums like ‘Blackout’, ‘Love At First Sting’ or even ‘Lovedrive'”.

“We try to focus on those albums and this attitude,” he added. “If we get there, who knows — it’s so many years later. But it’s the spirit and it’s the whole vibe around this album. This time, the focus is on the harder songs.”
