Sammy Hagar recently shared his live performance with The Circle of their rendition of the Led Zeppelin classic “Good Times Bad Times,” which was recorded live on tour in 2014. The live cover was released in the 7th year celebration of the band’s debut live album At Your Service, which came out on May 19, 2015.
Sammy Hagar and The Circle’s debut live double-CD release features members Hagar, Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson. It is a compilation of the band’s live performances, including hits from Sammy’s 4 decades of rock (Montrose, Solo, Van Hagar, Wabos) as well as classic tracks from the Led Zeppelin catalog.
Hagar wrote in the description of the video:
“When you Put together a band that has as much musical history as The Circle has, it’s mandatory you do a live album for your first record! See you on tour this summer!”
He also shared the video on his Twitter page saying:
“Today, ‘At Your Service’ turns 7! The album marks the Circle’s debut, and seven years later these guys are still rockin’. Celebrate with the Led Zeppelin classic “Good Times Bad Times” from the live double-CD release!”
In a previous statement, Hagar said about the performance:
“It’s like I close my eyes and I’m just going back to my early days of listening to Led Zeppelin and just dreaming of having a drummer that sounded like that.
“And you sit in a room with Jason [Bonham] and you got it… it sounds like that.”
Sammy Hagar and The Circle are set to release their new album, Crazy Times, this year. They recorded the music in Nashville, TN with producer Dave Cobb. The band will also launch their Crazy Times tour with guest George Thorogood in Bridgeport, CT on June 10.
