Sammy Hagar and Rick Springfield are teaming up for a six-date summer tour, kicking off June 13 in St. Louis and currently set to conclude June 24 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. For Hagar, the run continues the momentum of his Best of All Worlds tours, which celebrate his tenure as Van Halen’s lead singer.
He’ll be joined by fellow Van Halen alumni Michael Anthony on bass, Joe Satriani on guitar, and drummer Kenny Aronoff. On this tour, legendary keyboardist Gregg Phillinganes will step in for Ray Thistlewayte, adding his signature touch to the group’s high-energy performances. Hagar will also perform two solo shows without Springfield on June 26 and 27 in Maryland.
A Friendship Decades in the Making
The connection between Hagar and Springfield goes back more than 40 years. In 1981, Springfield scored a Top 10 hit with his cover of Hagar’s 1978 single “I’ve Done Everything for You,” a version that eclipsed the original on the charts. Yet in 2019, Springfield admitted he still preferred Hagar’s rendition.
“I may be prettier than you,” Springfield joked to Hagar, “but you’ve got a way better voice.”
Their friendship has extended beyond the stage. In 2020, they launched a line of rums together, and the following year they recorded a collaborative track titled “Party at the Beach Bar.” At the time, Hagar discussed the idea of a joint tour.
“It is so badass, I can see it being the theme of a tour for me or him or both of us,” Hagar said. “What we really want to do—our managers are good friends, we’re good friends, our fans are friends, we have everything in common—I think we’re trying to tour together.”
A Celebration of Music and Legacy
For fans, the upcoming tour is more than just a series of shows—it’s a celebration of two rock icons whose careers have intertwined for decades. Hagar’s Best of All Worlds setlist highlights the Van Halen years, while Springfield brings his signature brand of pop-rock energy. Together, they offer a rare opportunity to see two generations of rock history on one stage.
Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 16, with presales starting Tuesday, January 13. Fans can find full details on Hagar’s official website, RedRocker.com.
As the tour approaches, anticipation is building—not just for the music, but for the chemistry between two longtime friends who have shared hits, laughs, and collaborations across four decades. For many fans, this tour will be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the camaraderie and craft of two of rock’s enduring figures, reminding audiences why both Hagar and Springfield remain relevant and thrilling on stage, even after decades in the business.
