Ronnie Wood Reveals The Rolling Stones Have Written Nine New Tracks

In a new interview with The Times, guitarist Ronnie Wood has revealed that the Rolling Stones are currently prepping 40th anniversary box set for “Tattoo You”.

“Me and Mick [Jagger] have done nine new tracks for the [40th anniversary] re-release of Tattoo You,” he said.

Released in August 1981, “Tattoo You” featured studio outtakes from the 1970s. Although the material in the record spanned almost ten years, it wasn’t sloppily put together. On the contrary, it was a rather tight album even as it featured recordings from several sessions. The new box set is a continuation of the band’s series of classic LPs reissue. In 2020, they released an expanded edition of the 1973 album “Goats Head Soup”.

And as for the Stones’ No Filter Tour, Wood shared that they’ll likely resume with the trek. It kicked off in 2017, but their touring plans were derailed by the pandemic.

In the same interview, Wood also discussed his other projects such as recording with his former band Faces, and working on an album as a tribute to blues musician Jimmy Reed.

“I’ve had a front-row seat on some amazing rock’n’roll projects these past couple of weeks,” Wood said. “I’m making every day count.”
