The iconic Rolling Stones hit the stage in East Rutherford, New Jersey, dazzling fans with the live debut of “Tell Me Straight” from their latest album, Hackney Diamonds. The event took place last night, on May 26, at a packed venue buzzing with excitement.
A Spotlight on Keith Richards and Rare Live Treats
Keith Richards, with his distinctive voice and style, took the spotlight for this song, adding his unique flair that fans have admired for decades. The concert was not just a showcase of new material but also included the debut of three other songs for this tour leg.
One of these, “Bitch” from the 1971 album Sticky Fingers, has been a rare gem in recent tours, generally making just one appearance each time. The band’s choice to play this track certainly treated the audience to a slice of their storied past.
Another song that made the setlist was “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)”, a track from 1975’s Goats Head Soup. Chosen as the fan-favorite song of the night, it has only been performed live 13 times since the turn of the century, making its inclusion a notable highlight of the evening.
The last of the newly-introduced pieces was “Midnight Rambler” from the 1969 album Let It Bleed. This song is familiar territory for the band and features regularly in their shows. However, this performance was special, weaving in a brief interlude of Robert Johnson’s blues classic “Come On In My Kitchen,” showcasing the Stones’ ability to blend different musical elements seamlessly.

Songs like “Wild Horses”, “Sympathy for the Devil”, and “Paint It Black” were interspersed with newer tracks, creating a balanced musical experience that bridged new explorations with beloved classics.
Adding to the excitement, the band announced a final addition to their North American tour. They will be performing at Thunder Ridge Nature Reserve in Missouri on July 21. Tickets for this show will go on sale on May 31, giving fans another chance to catch these rock legends live.
This blend of old and new, the familiar energy of their classics coupled with the fresh excitement of new tracks, underscores what makes the Rolling Stones a continuing force in music.
