Brian May Once Admitted That They “Couldn’t Crack It”
Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May have been busy working on solo projects. However, May shared earlier this year that the pair, along with frontman Adam Lambert, have been working on new material. Sadly though, it fell through. Now in a new interview with Mojo magazine, Taylor discussed what happened and why it didn’t work out for them.
“Brian suddenly lost interest and I don’t really know why,” Taylor said. “We started it in Nashville when we were all quite tired. We couldn’t decide on a title and the lyric felt a little too negative for Queen, maybe. But it was pretty damn good, and I hope it comes to light.”
“It was a song that we’d tried to adapt that had come from a friend,” May revealed back in February. “It had the makings of being a great song, but we couldn’t crack it. We couldn’t get there.”
Meanwhile, May already said his piece regarding a possible sequel for their massively successful 2018 biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Although Taylor admitted feeling “that one biopic’s probably enough”, he also noted he’d “be daft to rule it out.” He’s also set to release his solo album, “Outsider”, on October 1.
