I Got The Honey

We gave you a little sneak peak into the genius combination of Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant and bluegrass- country singer star Alison Krauss, but this Grammys performance in 2009 is on a whole different level. Performing their hits “Rich Woman” and “Gone, Gone, Gone” on the stage, Alison and Robert are electrifyingly perfect for each other in harmony and soul.

“I dont have to worry cause shes real fine, I know my baby and shes all mine. She give me a Cadillac, a diamond ring, She told me, daddy, dont you worry bout a thing…”

Released in 2007, Raising Sand, became Robert and Alison’s music “child,” for lack of a better word, and brought them a Grammy in 2009 for Album of the Year. “Rich Woman,” originally a Li’l Millet R&B song in 1955, was a dream come true for Robert to cover and record onto this album– and it does not hurt that these two balance each other perfectly with soft, harmonious and intoxicating vocals.

Interesting Quote: “This song is such a spooky song. It’s the heart of the American underworld of Rhythm and Blues and shimmy, and we’re very proud of the job that (producer) T-Bone Burnett did to make it so good.” – Robert Plant

Along with another hit, “Gone, Gone, Gone,” this pair was practically unstoppable at the Grammys and seriously stole the show with their intimate performance of this iconic, Louisianan R&B tune, doing it more than justice. Enjoy this wonderful performance and share on!

+ Rich Woman Lyrics +

I got a woman with plenty of money
She got the money and I got the honey
Called my baby late last night
She told me, daddy, everything was all right

She got the money and I got the honey
She got the money and I got the honey
She got the money and I got the honey

I dont have to worry cause shes real fine
I know my baby and shes all mine
She give me a Cadillac, a diamond ring
She told me, daddy, dont you worry bout a thing

She got the money and I got the honey
She got the money and I got the honey
She got the money and I got the honey

Shes all mine and Im so glad
Shes the best woman that I ever had
Shes all mine and Im so glad
Shes all mine and Im so glad
Shes all mine and Im so glad

Ah, stop your train
Ah, mama, stop your train
