Ringo Starr Gives Update On Upcoming EP

Fans are in for a treat as the renowned drummer of The Beatles, Ringo Starr, gets ready to release his highly awaited EP, Crooked Boy. The premiere song, February Sky, will be released on Friday, April 12th, providing fans with a sneak peek at Starr’s newest musical project.

Written and produced by acclaimed musician Linda Perry, the EP promises a unique blend of Starr’s iconic drumming and vocals with Perry’s creative genius. Starr expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating:

“Linda made me a great EP—she produced it in her studio and then sent me the tracks and I added the drumming and my vocals.”

He described February Sky as “very moody” but infused with a signature “peace & love element,” characteristic of his music.

Accompanying the release of February Sky is a visualizer video featuring never-before-seen footage from Starr’s personal archives, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.

Tracklist and Collaborators

First released as a limited-edition colored vinyl disk especially for Record Store Day on April 20, the EP has four tracks overall. The vinyl disk is limited to 2000 copies, so collectors will need to move quickly to get their hands on one. After this exclusive release, Crooked Boy will go on sale online on April 26 and in shops on May 31 in CD and black vinyl formats.

In addition to the EP release, fans in Los Angeles will have the opportunity to attend a special playback event at Amoeba Music Hollywood on April 18th, where they can experience the full EP before its official release.

Aside from his solo projects, Starr also revealed plans for a full-length country album, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

Additionally, from May through June, Starr and his All Starr Band will be performing live for fans. The tour will begin on May 22 in Las Vegas and end on June 9 in Austin, Texas. Renowned artists like Men at Work’s Colin Hay and guitarist Steve Lukather of Toto are on the roster, guaranteeing fans an amazing musical experience.
