In the most recent episode of The Greatest series, Queen revisited the 1986 London performance of their 1984 track, “Is This The World We Created…?”
The performance was part of the two sold-out events during The Magic Tour at Wembley Stadium. The shows saw the band perform an acoustic session each night.
Freddie Mercury and Brian May delivered “Is This The World We Created…?” for their 72,000 fans at that time. A year earlier at the same venue, the track had also been a highlight of the Live Aid benefit concert’s finale.
“Is This The World We Created…?” is written by Mercury and May and was inspired by an agonizing documentary on the African famine that occurred in the ’80s. The song was released on their 1984’s album The Works and later on became a live favorite along with the rest of their classic hits.
In more recent news, according to a report from Music Business Worldwide, Queen is said to be in the initial phases of selling their extensive collection of songs. If the agreement is finalized, it would be the largest sale of a catalog by a single artist ever recorded.
