Pink Floyd Encores LAST Tour With “Hey You” And It Will Leave You Breathless

Pink Floyd Encores LAST Tour With “Hey You” And It Will Leave You Breathless | Society Of Rock Videos

Hey You…

Playing their last EVER tour known as the Division Bell Tour in ’94, Pink Floyd creepily serenades the audience with classic “Hey You” and the solo takes our breath away every time we watch it…

“Hey you out there on your own, sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?”

We hear the voices calling out for us when we listen to this song, pleading for companionship, interaction and warmth and we wish that we could reach other and feel the embrace of echoed loneliness portrayed in this beautifully haunting ballad…

Interesting Quote: “It’s about the break-up of my first marriage, all that misery and pain and being out on the road when the woman declares over the phone that she’s fallen in love with somebody else. It’s a complete disaster, especially if you’re someone like I was.” – Roger Waters

Although we are sad that this was their last time together on an American stage, we are thankful that David and Roger are still playing their music- even if it is individually…

We always felt a strange and indescribable comfort in the sounds and echoes produced in Pink Floyd songs and “Hey You” makes us feel like there will always be someone out there wanting to reach out to us

+ Hey You Lyrics +

Hey you out there in the cold
Getting lonely getting old
Can you feel me?
Hey you standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles
Can you feel me?
Hey you don’t help them to bury the light
Don’t give in without a fight.

Hey you out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me?
Hey you with you ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
Would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I’m coming home.

But it was only fantasy.
The wall was too high,
As you can see.
No matter how he tried,
He could not break free.
And the worms ate into his brain.

Hey you, out there on the road
Always doing what you’re told,
Can you help me?
Hey you, out there beyond the wall,
Breaking bottles in the hall,
Can you help me?
Hey you, don’t tell me there’s no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall.
