What happens when two of the biggest stars on the planet from two of the most famous bands to ever exist join forces? You get classic ‘Say, Say, Say’! Paul McCartney recruited then friend Michael Jackson to record a song for Paul’s new album Tug Of War and the result was an upbeat pop tune that dominated the airwaves! For the first time, Beatles fans and Motown fans were able to hear their favorite singers together.

This was the second duet between McCartney and Jackson. The first, ‘The Girl Is Mine’, appeared on Jackson’s album Thriller.

Sadly, we only got two collaborations out of the two mega stars: Jackson and McCartney’s friendship ended in 1984 when Jackson outbid McCartney for the publishing rights to a collection of Beatles songs, leaving Jackson to decide how the songs were used.

The Jackson/McCartney team was short lived, but we loved it while it lasted!
