Paul Stanley Revealed They Have “Unspoken” Deal With Their Groupies

Ever wondered what it was like backstage at a KISS concert? It turns out it was a lot of fun, at least according to Paul Stanley.
In a recent Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast, the Starchild spilled the beans on the band’s encounters with groupies, and it wasn’t quite the scandalous tell-all you might expect. The singer said:
“The women who would come to shows weren’t coming there to be courted.
“You have tonight and we all know that. You know that and I know that. And it was very simple. And nobody got hurt. Nobody ever walked away feeling disrespected or diminished.”
Sounds like a pretty straightforward arrangement, right? Stanley agrees: “We were upfront, they were upfront. It was uncomplicated and fun.” His philosophy?
“Whether it’s for one night or a lifetime, relationships should be uncomplicated.”
Gene’s Groupie Stories
In another interview, KISS bassist Gene Simmons also shared his experiences with some groupies. Known for his legendary love life (and his infamous tongue), Simmons has boasted about bedding nearly 5,000 groupies. He’s even shared some eyebrow-raising anecdotes, like when a fan wore KISS face paint during their encounter, or the one with a tattoo of his face in a very private place.
But unlike some rock stars, Simmons had a rule: no booze while wooing. Simmons says:
“As soon as you get drunk you’re going to throw up on that chick you’ve been talking to, you’re going to throw up on the new shoes she’s bought. If you drink enough your d*ck won’t work and the next day you’re going to have a headache.”
Simmons also had a surprisingly philosophical take on tour romances: “One-night stands are more honest than those fancy dinner dates.” Who knew?
The Show Must Go On (As Holograms!)
Sadly, KISS played their final show in 2023. But fear not, fans! The band will continue to rock on as holograms starting in 2027. So, while the real-life backstage antics may be a thing of the past, the music and the memories will live on. And hey, at least we got some juicy stories out of it, right?
