Paul McCartney’s Brother May Have Dropped a Big Album Clue

Speculation surrounding Paul McCartney’s next release has intensified after his brother, Mike McCartney, seemingly disclosed the title of the forthcoming project.
On March 24th, Mike shared a post on X featuring a photograph of a poster discovered in Liverpool by his son, Josh. The image showed a road sign reading The Boys of Dungeon Lane, alongside the L24 postcode—an area that corresponds to Speke in Liverpool.
He captioned the post:
“Josh saw this teaser for r kids new album ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’ in Liverpool yestas. It was familiar to him as he had designed the Dungeon Lane (Speke) artwork for his Uncle.”
The reference holds personal resonance, as McCartney spent part of his childhood in Speke, lending further credibility to the proposed album title.
Clues Across Platforms
Adding to the intrigue, a website titled The Boys of Dungeon Lane has surfaced, though it currently offers little beyond the same artwork seen on the Liverpool poster. Observers have noted that the site’s navigation bar features a blackbird logo—closely resembling imagery recently added to McCartney’s Instagram profile.
The apparent theme also echoes a lesser-known track from McCartney’s archive. His unreleased song ‘In Liverpool’, performed during a 2008 hometown show, includes the lyric:
“Walking with the boys of Dungeon Lane, Aimlessly towards the cast iron shore.”
Together, these details suggest a cohesive narrative forming around the project, even as official confirmation remains absent.
Intimate Shows Fuel Speculation
Rumors of new material gained further traction following the announcement of two intimate performances at the Fonda Theatre, scheduled for March 27th and 28th. With a capacity of just 1,200, the shows mark a stark contrast to McCartney’s usual arena-scale appearances.
Notably, both concerts will enforce a phone-free policy, raising the possibility that McCartney may debut new material in a controlled live setting, free from the risk of online leaks.
These performances will be his first since concluding the Got Back tour in November 2025, which ended with a four-night run at the United Center in Chicago.
As anticipation builds, attention now turns to Los Angeles, where further clues—or confirmations—may emerge. When contacted, a representative for McCartney declined to comment.
