Following his 2020 album Ordinary Man, Ozzy Osbourne started streaming his thirteenth studio record Patient Number 9 online.

The former Black Sabbath singer who became a solo artist for years now, also shared a preview of the first episode of a video miniseries about the making of his new album. The icon planned to launch the three-part series video which he started this September 16 with the first episode called “When Ozzy Calls.”

The producer and guitarist Andrew Watt said in the clip “talking about great musicians,” “whenever there’s an Ozzy album, everyone just shows up.”

In Patient Number 9, Osbourne worked with various musicians such as Zakk Wylde, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. It also features other artists, such as Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction. McCready stated:

“Because of the diversity of all the guitar players, this is going to be a big record for him.”

Osbourne kicked off the project with a halftime performance at the Los Angeles Rams NFL season opener. He also made his first live appearance after several years when he and Iommi performed together on stage at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in their hometown of Birmingham last month.
