Apparently, We Had It All Wrong…

Early last year, Ozzy Osbourne made an announcement that simultaneously made fans really excited and really sad. He announced a brand new tour titled ‘No More Tears 2’. He originally billed this as his farewell tour (putting the ‘2’ at the end of the name as he previously embarked on what he thought would be his farewell tour after being incorrectly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 1992).

However, now with just a few dates left in this illustrious tour, Ozzy feels he needs to clear something up about the name of the tour.

During a recent interview with Pasadena Star-News, Ozzy went into detail about how people may be misconstruing the ‘No More Tours 2’ name. Here is what he had to say…

“People have gotten that all wrong. The tour should have been the Ozzy Osbourne ‘Slowing Down Tour’. What I’m actually doing is not going out on January 1 and coming back on December 31. I’ll still tour, but not as extensively like I have been for the last 50 years.”

“I mean, I have grandchildren now and I’m 70 years old and I don’t want to be found dead in a hotel room somewhere. I’m going to do it at a more leisurely pace and do some shows in Vegas, but I’ll never stop. The whole lifestyle I have lived, it has all come down to the fact that there are people who want to hear me and as long as they want to hear me, I’m there.”

Well, I can’t speak for you, but I can definitely speak for myself when I say that I am beyond relieved that Ozzy will not be retiring after this tour concludes. I think it goes without saying that us rock fans look forwards to seeing him rock the masses for many, many more years to come and judging by how he and his band sound even today, it’s time to get excited!
