Ozzy Osbourne has recently made his first public appearance on Friday, July 22, since undergoing a “very major operation” on June 13.
The Prince of Darkness made a guest appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con to launch a comic book related to his upcoming album Patient Number 9 to be released on September 9. He was seen being driven through the crowd on an electric cart.
Last month, his wife, Sharon, confirmed on the British show The Talk that Ozzy’s surgery was “really going to determine the rest of his life.” Ozzy has handled vertebrae problems since his accident on an ATV in 2003 that nearly killed him. The crash happened during the taping of the hit reality MTV show The Osbournes.
Fast forward in 2019, he had a fall in February which dislodged the metal rods and bolts in his back and collarbone from the operation after the ATV crash. During his surgical operation to treat the neck injury in 2019, it was discovered that Ozzy has Parkinson’s Disease. While, before his recent surgery, the singer was also affected by COVID-19.
The rocker told Entertainment Tonight about the recent event:
“It’s great, it’s great.
“I like to see people, you know. That’s been the hardest thing of the past three years, because I’ve been trying to recover from my surgery. I’m getting there. It’s a slow climb back, you know?”
He added about his upcoming album:
“I have never gone into the studio and gone, ‘Oh, you know what? I’ve got to write a song for a bad record,’ I love the record. I hope the fans do [too], you know?”
