This April, Neil Young and Stephen Stills will collaborate onstage as the headliners of the Light Up the Blues benefit concert.

The fundraiser event for Autism Speaks will also feature James Raymond Crosby, the late David Crosby‘s son, this coming April 22 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Other guests include Chris Stills and Oliver Stills from the Stills family as well as Lukas Nelson (the son of Willie Nelson) and Promise of the Real.

Young has not performed in public since the event he last attended in 2019. Subsequently, he will also perform at Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday event. He said:

“We’ll be there to ‘Light Up the Blues’ with Stephen, his wife Kristen and the family. Doing our first show in four years with old friends for our autistic people around the world.”

Light Up the Blues has been handled by Stills and his family since 2013. The 2020 April show that was postponed due to the pandemic is scheduled for this year. Stills was given the option of a streamed performance, but he opted to wait. Stills then admitted:

“I always hated the idea of a virtual show. The only one that pulled it off was the Stephen Colbert band with Jon Batiste. Everyone else tried, but it was a joke.”

Meanwhile, Stills’ wife, Kristen, assured that special guests will be participating and added:

“Some of them will be announced prior to the show, and there will be some surprises guaranteed on that night.”
