Neil Diamond – “Crunchy Granola Suite” Live
Talk About Neil’s High Energy!
I just love how Neil Diamond gets better with age! I mean, he looks great and more importantly, he SOUNDS amazing. With all his concerts and live performances, he has proven that he still has it. A few seconds into the song and it’s the same old Neil. The same sound, same vocals but with an added spice. It’s subtly different in a beautiful kind of way.
“Crunchy Granola Suite” is a track written by Neil and included in his seventh studio album, “Stones.” It was recorded in 1971 and released on the same year. It contained several hit recordings and even received four out of five stars from Allmusic.
Early copies of the LP album featured a picture label and a unique version of the cover with a button-string style closure on the back. The cover itself was styled as an envelope that opened from the top. This was later abandoned and replaced with a standard side-opening sleeve.
Along with nine other tracks, this was released under MCA Records and produced by Neil’s long-time collaborator, Tom Catalano. This fun and groovy song just makes me wanna dance!
