Iconic rocker Mick Mars, known for his legendary stint with Motley Crue, is breaking fresh ground with his latest solo single, “Right Side of Wrong.” This dynamic track, laden with powerful riffs, introduces a distinct alt-rock vibe, offering a glimpse into Mars’ diverse musical prowess and laying the groundwork for his upcoming solo debut, The Other Side of Mars.
Following the Halloween release of his inaugural solo single, “Loyal to the Lie”
Mick Mars is steering away from the familiar Motley Crue sound, presenting an unconventional solo in “Right Side of Wrong.” In his own words, Mars shares,
“‘Right Side of Wrong’ has kind of an odd solo in it. Different than what I’ve heard anybody do. Maybe Jeff Beck could have [done something like this]. But I tried to not stray from it, but to go, ‘Here’s another level of me. Here’s this weird part — play a solo over it.'”
“It’s like a kaleidoscope kind of thing, where these notes come out of this, and it’s a different color than the rhythm is in this part. I don’t know how to really explain it, but that’s what came to me.”
With a touch of humor, Mars adds,
“I’m really, really trying to be what I am, which is a little off. Maybe I am from Mars? I have no idea.”

Insights into Mick Mars’ ‘The Other Side of Mars’
Scheduled for release on Feb. 23, The Other Side of Mars marks Mars’ full-length solo debut. Having officially retired from touring with Motley Crue, Mars has redirected his focus to his solo career, purposefully distancing himself from the band’s established image.
“I needed to be Mick Mars, not [a] Motley Crue parody or whatever you want to call it,” he says. “I’ve had ideas that weren’t quite fit for Motley Crue that I did for me as a solo artist. [It was important to get] the first record up to par [and demonstrate] what it is I’m doing and where I’m going with my music. It’s a diverse kind of music.”
As anticipation builds for The Other Side of Mars, Mick Mars continues to showcase his evolution as an artist, inviting fans to join him on this musical exploration.
