Several well-known artists from different sides of the music world will be honored as part of the 2026 class of inductees into the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville. The list includes artists who shaped popular music through performance, songwriting, session work, and production.
The Musicians Hall of Fame recognizes the wide range of people who make music possible, from performers to the people behind the microphones. In addition to famous stars, it also honors session players and producers whose names may not always appear on record covers.
Major Artists Set for Induction
Among this year’s inductees is Michael McDonald, best known for his work with The Doobie Brothers and as a solo artist. McDonald’s voice and keyboard work helped define several hits in the 1970s and 1980s, crossing from rock to soul and pop. His role in crafting iconic songs has made him one of the most respected figures in American music.
Also named to the class are George Thorogood & The Destroyers, whose blues-rock sound and energetic guitar work have made songs like “Bad to the Bone” staples of radio and live shows. Thorogood’s influence is felt across blues and rock scenes alike.
Country music legend Dolly Parton will be inducted as well. Parton’s long career includes many hits, songwriting achievements, and crossover success in multiple genres. She is also known for her philanthropic work and influence on music beyond performance.

Behind the Scenes and Session Legends
The 2026 class also includes several figures known more for their work behind the scenes. Nicky Hopkins, who died in 1994, was a session keyboardist whose piano and organ work appeared on recordings by a wide range of artists across rock history. His contributions helped shape tracks even when his name was seldom on the cover.
Leland Sklar, a prolific session bassist, appears on hundreds of albums by many major artists and is admired for his skill across rock, pop, and country. His presence on so many records has made him a familiar figure to musicians and industry insiders.
Producers and Contemporary Artists Honored
The Musicians Hall of Fame also included producer-musicians Dan Huff and John Boylan in this year’s group. Huff’s work spans rock and country, both as a producer and as a session guitarist. Boylan’s career includes producing and writing across decades, working with a variety of major acts.
Country star Keith Urban rounds out the class. Urban has enjoyed success as a performer, songwriter, and guitarist, blending modern country music with rock influences. His induction reflects his role in the music industry and his wide appeal across genres.
