A 30-Date Run

It seems like Southern rock titans Lynyrd Skynyrd won’t be saying goodbye to live music after all and will be back on stage pretty soon. They just announced their 2021 “Big Wheels Keep on Turnin'” Tour with 30 new shows scheduled. It kicks off on June 30 in Forest City, IA and wraps up on November 19 in Bossier City, LA.

In a new interview, founding guitarist Gary Rossington, lead singer Johnny Van Zant, and guitarist Rickey Medlocke discussed their decision to go back on the road.

“Covid turned our world upside down. And since that time, we have been talking amongst the band, and realized that music has such a way of healing. Maybe it’s not our time to go,” Rossington explained. “And maybe it’s our time to lift people’s spirits and lives and bring back some joy and happiness after so much turmoil this past year. We’re still standing, still keeping the music going.”

The “Big Wheels Keep on Turnin'” Tour will feature special guests like Tesla, Kansas, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and the Marshall Tucker Band to name a few.
