Once Upon A Time, Not So Long Ago…
Bon Jovi’s signature song (and one of their most enduring hits) always makes us want to get up and dance around. From the moment we hear the intro, it takes us back to the ’80s – the era of wild mane and tight leather jeans. Domenic Nardone, in denim pants and shirt by the way, did a mighty fine job with this cover. I especially like the energy and enthusiasm. Sure it’s not perfect but it’s not supposed to be.
Besides, it’s so fun to listen to. And it made us want to start learning how to play drums! In one interview, Richie Sambora told Fuse TV:
“I think the most interesting part of that song, it was the first time we ever used characters. Because at a time, every couple, no matter what, is going through that hardship where they’re trying to make ends meet and it’s not coming easy. They gotta get over that hurdle. So that was a very inspirational song, and it’s morphed and transformed throughout the years.”
Keep on rockin’ Domenic!
