They Finally Reunited After 14 Years

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss previewed their highly anticipated “Raise the Roof” album with a new single, “It Don’t Bother Me.” It’s the pair’s take on the acoustic song by Scottish folk musician Bert Jansch.

“Raise the Roof” is their first LP in over a decade, and it arrives on November 19.

“I’ve been a big follower of Bert Jansch’s work since I was a teenager, and of that whole Irish, Scottish, English folk style that has a different lilt and different lyrical perspective,” Plant said in a press release. “I was very keen to bring some of that into the picture.”

“One of my favourite parts of this is the songs and songwriters that I had never heard of,” Krauss added. “Working with Robert, and with T Bone, is always a great education in music history.”

Speaking about “Raise the Roof”, Plant said that it was “such a far cry from everything I’ve done before.”

“I love the whole kaleidoscope of music that I’ve explored, but this is a place where you can think within the song, you can decide how to bring home an emotion,” he continued. “It’s another blend that we’ve got, and long may we have more of them.”

The duo is scheduled to tour in support of the album in 2022.
