Judas Priest – “Breaking The Law” (LIVE)

Breaking The Law With Judas Priest
With its extremely simple main riff and chorus, ‘Breaking The Law’ was released as a single from the British Steel album, and was one of Judas Priest’s big breakthrough songs. The guys wrote it in about a day, with guitarist K.K. Downing playing a simple riff and vocalist Rob Halford repeating the words “breaking the law” over and over again – no one knew that this would become the band’s most iconic song and a major staple at every Judas Priest show thereafter.
Breaking The Law, Breaking The Law!
The lyrics tell of someone who gets tired of everything that comes with an ordinary life, leading them to take a chance and start breaking the law.
This performance of ‘Breaking The Law’ sums up everything we’ve ever loved about Judas Priest; Rob Halford is as powerful and in control of his stage as he’s ever been, using that iconic powerhouse voice to tear through his song. It’s extremely high energy, and features a few theatrics – you have to love that guitar intro featuring Rob and the rest of the band playing guitars over each others’ shoulders!
It’s a staple at every show, and this performance of this metal classic is a must-see for any Judas Priest fan!
+ Breaking The Law lyrics +
There I was completely wasting, out of work and down
All inside it’s so frustrating as I drift from town to town
Feel as though nobody cares if I live or die
So I might as well begin to put some action in my life
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
So much for the golden future, I can’t even start
I’ve had every promise broken, there’s anger in my heart
You don’t know what it’s like, you don’t have a clue
If you did you’d find yourselves doing the same thing too
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
You don’t know what it’s like
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
Breaking the law, breaking the law
