Finally, JBJ Speaks Up

We know Richie Sambora hasn’t really expressed any excitement in reuniting with Jon Bon Jovi and though they have made music together for years, we’re not sure if they are currently on speaking terms. They weren’t just bandmates, they were also songwriting partners and friends. But what really happened after Richie announced his departure from the band in 2013 due to ‘personal issues’?

“I haven’t seen him in over three years. He just didn’t show up for work anymore. And that’s the truth of the matter,” Bon Jovi tells CBS. “And, you know, life goes on. You know, being in a rock band is not a life sentence … you have other things in your life that you care to do. But it’s okay, because you share your art as long as you choose to share it. You know, you don’t have to do this for a living — you choose to do it for a living.”

Jon Bon Jovi has been busy with his JBJ Soul Kitchen which is all about paying it forward. It’s a wonderful concept and we can’t help but admire how thoughtful and generous this rock legend is.
