Jon Bon Jovi Explains The Real Stand About Reunion

Jon Bon Jovi Explains The Real Stand About Reunion | Society Of Rock Videos

Few bands have left as big a mark as Bon Jovi. Their songs are like soundtracks to many people’s lives, and their story spans over four decades.

Recently, there’s been talk about the band possibly getting back together with their former guitarist, Richie Sambora. Jon Bon Jovi himself talked about this in a recent interview at SXSW, giving some insight into the situation:

“It’s not that we’re not discussing anything. Just to be clear, there was never any animosity. He had some issues that were multi-tiered, but it’s been 11 years since he quit, and the door is always open. I mean, these are songs that we created together for a long period of time. So there’s no animosity whatsoever.”

The Departure of Sambora

Sambora left Bon Jovi back in 2013, which was a big shock to everyone. He said he had personal reasons for leaving, and it happened just before a show. After he left, Phil X joined the band and eventually became an official member. But Sambora’s departure left a gap, both in the band and in the hearts of fans who missed him.

Despite leaving suddenly, Sambora has mentioned a few times that he’s open to reuniting with Bon Jovi. In interviews, he shared, “I’m not sure. It’s up to people; it’s got to be right. That’s all. It’s time to do it, though. This is our 40th anniversary, but I feel younger than ever. I’m having a ball.” He’s also talked about having ongoing conversations with Jon Bon Jovi about it.

Before the release of a documentary about the band’s story, Sambora talked a bit about his departure and said he doesn’t regret it, but he wishes he’d handled it differently. He also said that if a reunion were to happen, it would have to feel right for everyone involved.

Jon Bon Jovi’s recent comments at SXSW echoed this sentiment. He said there’s no hard feelings between him and Sambora and that they’re open to him coming back. Even though they didn’t talk much during the making of the documentary, Bon Jovi emphasized that there’s no bad blood.

As fans wait for the documentary to come out, they’re excited to learn more about the band’s journey. It’ll feature interviews with band members and people close to Bon Jovi, giving a deeper look into their history. While the question of reuniting with Richie Sambora is still up in the air, one thing is for sure: Bon Jovi’s music continues to resonate with people around the world, and their story is far from over.
