So… Will There Be A Farewell Tour Next Year?
It broke our hearts a little when Steven Tyler announced Aerosmith’s final tour on 2017. Well, somehow we knew we’d get there what with him being busy with his country music. But though we have partially accepted the fact that it might be the end for the legendary rock band, Joe Perry thinks they might not be ready to call it quits.
“It’s one of many things we’ve talked about as a band, but I don’t know if it’s the end,” Perry tells Guitar World. “We take it from album to tour and day to day. It’s the same philosophy we’ve always had.”
And contrary to what many believed, he didn’t hold grudges for Steven when he decided to embark on a solo career. In fact, it allowed Joe to go on tour and record with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp which was exciting for him. Yet, somehow Joe couldn’t wrap his head around the concept of a final trek. During his interview with the Rolling Stone magazine, he said:
“The band gets better and better. It will probably be called the final tour, but I play every night like it’s the last show anyway. Calling it that will definitely give a different flavor to this. … And who knows what’s in the stars.”
He even joked about Aerosmith’s frontman by saying, “I always hold my breath whenever Steven does an interview on his own.”
We feel the same way, Joe! 🙂
