Joan wants YOU in the Rock Hall of Fame!

Joan wants YOU in the Rock Hall of Fame! | Society Of Rock Videos

Grab your guitars, ladies – Joan wants us with her in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame!

Joan Jett: pioneer, rockstar, and now advocate for equal representation of women in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In an industry dominated by men, Joan is no stranger to defending the validity of her craft; after The Runaways dissolved in the late 1970’s, Joan shopped around for new record labels, and it was only after being rejected by 23 record labels that she formed her own label, Blackheart Records as a vehicle for her music. It’s nearly 40 years later and not only are The Runaways considered pioneers in female-fronted rock music, but Joan Jett is one of the most respected musicians in her industry as proven by her April 18th, 2015 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – the only female inductee.

Did you know…that women musicians only make up 10% of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame? Joan told Billboard, “There should be more women in the Hall Of Fame, and more women in rock. They’re out there, they just don’t get the notice the pop girls do.” We agree completely, Joan!

To the next generation of female rockers, jamming in garage bands: keep rocking, we can’t wait to see you in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame next to Joan one day!

I saw him dancing there by the record machine
I knew he must have been about seventeen
The beat was going strong
Playing my favorite song
And I could tell it wouldn’t be long till he was with me, yeah me
And I could tell it wouldn’t be long till he was with me, yeah meSinging, I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me
Ow!

He smiled, so I got up and asked for his name
But that don’t matter, he said, ’cause it’s all the same
He said, “Can I take you home
Where we can be alone?”
And next we were moving on, he was with me, yeah me
Next we were moving on, he was with me, yeah me

Singing, I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me
Ow!

He said, “Can I take you home
Where we can be alone?”
Next we’re moving on, he was with me, yeah me
And we’ll be moving on and singing that same old song, yeah with me

Singing I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me

I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with

I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with

I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with

I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me
