She Took The High Road
In an interview with Daily Mail UK published on January 1st, rock icon Meat Loaf shared his thoughts on 17-year old climate change activist Greta Thunberg. Meat Loaf worked with President Donald Trump in the reality TV show Celebrity Apprentice back in 2010. Meat Loaf said, “I feel for that Greta. She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change and there isn’t. She hasn’t done anything wrong but she’s been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true.”
And now, Thunberg has responded in a classy way. She tweeted, “It’s not about Meatloaf. It’s not about me. It’s not about what some people call me. (Alprazolam) It’s not about left or right. It’s all about scientific facts. And that we’re not aware of the situation. Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach.”
She then added a link to an infographic from Carbon Brief which showed a UN Environment Program emissions gap report that the 1.5-degree Celsius climate target is “slipping out of reach.”
While Meat Loaf is entitled to his own opinion, there are other rockers who publicly supported Thunberg including Patti Smith who even wrote her a poem for ther 17th birthday. Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale also referred to Thunberg as a “modern day Joan of Arc.”
It’s not about Meatloaf.
It’s not about me.
It’s not about what some people call me.
It’s not about left or right. It’s all about scientific facts.
And that we’re not aware of the situation.
Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach. https://t.co/UwyoSnLiK2— Greta Thunberg (@GretaThunberg) January 6, 2020
