So Many Roads To Ease My Soul!

“So Many Roads” was first performed live at the Coliseum Arena in California on February 22, 1992. It appeared on the first set. This is one of the most loved ballads during Jerry Garcia’s later years. In my opinion though, I think all of their songs are remarkable and so are the talents of the band members!

“I learned how weirdly miraculous it was that this band even came together,” David Browne says. “In researching their backgrounds you learn how different they were from each other, both in terms of their personalities and musical backgrounds.”

Like every other Hunter-Garcia collaboration, there’s more to the song than just simple words. There’s always a story behind the lyrics and how they were able to pen it. That, I think, is the beauty of Grateful Dead songs — you’re left with the freedom to interpret it!
