Graham Nash has announced a new live album dubbed Graham Nash: Live out via Proper Records on May 6. The upcoming record features Nash’s first two critically acclaimed solo albums, 1971’s Songs For Beginners and 1974’s Wild Tales performed in their entirety.

The new LP includes fan favorites and solo classics such as “Simple Man,” “Chicago/ We Can Change The World,” “Prison Song,” “Oh! Camil,” and “You’ll Never Be the Same.” In anticipation of the record, Nash has released the live version of the hit song “Military Madness” which is also included on the new album.

Nash shared via press release:

“I’ve been trying to figure out why Songs For Beginners and Wild Tales [were] so popular and I think it’s that intimacy and that immediacy of my emotions.”

Graham Nash: Live was recorded while on tour in the Northeastern U.S. in September 2019. Nash was accompanied by a seven-piece band led by his longtime collaborators, Shane Fontayne in guitar and vocals, and Todd Caldwell in keyboards and vocals.

Nash added:

“We’re supposed to learn from history and it doesn’t appear as if we’re learning much.

“Songs like ‘Military Madness’…is that not relevant today? The hope that we can change the world, isn’t that still relevant today? I’m very flattered that my music seems to have lasted this long, but I’m also a little upset that we have to keep singing a song like ‘Military Madness’ right up to the present. Enough already!”

In addition to songs from Nash’s solo career, fans can also expect to hear material from his days in the Hollies, as well as Crosby, Stills & Nash. The singer-songwriter is currently on a national tour scheduled to run through the end of October. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
