Stevie Ray Vaughan: Blow’s Germany out of the water!

Stevie Ray Vaughan was not only a joy to watch perform live, but his infectious attitude and humble demeanor added to the thrill of watching him play.

When SRV walks on to the stage, he bows graciously, and flashes that heart melting smile. The feeling is “wow- all these people came to watch me”– at least that’s what I get from observing.

This kind of humility is rare, especially in a musician of Stevie’s caliber. But at the end of the day, he was just a boy from Texas who really wanted to play his guitar.

“The Things (That) I Used To Do'” was written by Guitar Slim and produced by the legendary Ray Charles before Stevie got his hands on it. Stevie kept the blues and regretful tone, but added a little bit of attitude to make it interesting.

You’ll be blown away by this performance!

+ The Things (That) I Used To Do lyrics +

The things that I used to doc
Lord, I won’t do no more
The things that I used to do
Lord, I won’t do no more
I used to sit and hold your hand darlin’
And cry, oh babe do not go

I used to search all night for you darlin’
Lord, and my search would always end in vain
I used to search all night for you darlin’
Lord, and my search would always end in vain
But I knew all the time darlin’
That you was hid out wit’ your other man

I’m goin’ to send you back to your mama darlin’
Lord, and I’m goin’ back to my family too
I’m goin’ to send you back to your mama darlin’
Lord, and I’m goin’ back to my family too
Nothin’ I can do to please ya’ darlin’
I just can’t get along with you
